Job summary

Renesas in Bayan Lepas, Malaysia is seeking a Senior Staff Package Design Engineer to oversee backend semiconductor manufacturing processes at OSATs and to be the primary technical interface with OSAT partners.

This role requires strong experience in process engineering, lean manufacturing, and cross-functional collaboration to drive yield, quality, and on-time delivery across production, QA, and supply chain.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, Science or equivalent field.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in Semiconductor Manufacturing & Process Engineering.
• Experience with Lean manufacturing principles and other continuous improvement methodologies.
• Knowledge of Project Management, Six Sigma or AutoCAD software will be good to have.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
• Self-starter and self-supervising within the expectations of senior management.

Responsibilities

• Manage OSATs to achieve good yield, quality, delivery, cost performance and drive improvements to meet KPI.
• Collaborate with NPI, Supply Chain, Quality on new/changed packages or processes with qualification activities.
• Establish and enforce process standards for consistency and regulatory compliance.
• Work with Production, QA, and Supply Chain to resolve technical issues and drive operational excellence; lead root cause analyses.
• Support internal and customer audits and respond to audit findings.
• Prefer experience with automotive products.
