Job summary

Renesas Electronics Corp. in Penang, Malaysia seeks a seasoned OSAT Assembly Staff Engineer to oversee backend semiconductor manufacturing activities and to act as the main technical interface between Renesas and OSATs.

The role focuses on collaborating with OSATs to optimize yield, quality, and delivery, implementing process changes, supporting NPI releases, and driving preventative actions with QA, with a preference for candidates having automotive product experience.

Qualifications

Degree in Engineering, Science, or Mathematics.
At least 10 years in semiconductor manufacturing.
Experience in Assembly, NPI and Six Sigma is advantageous.
Knowledge of project/program management is a plus.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with OSATs to ensure yield, quality, delivery and cost KPI performance.
Implement process and materials changes at OSATs and run qualification activities to qualify these changes.
Develop and/or assist NPI to release new packages/products at OSATs and ensure seamless transition to production.
Develop and qualify (new or existing Renesas packages) at qualified or new assembly subcontractor as alternate source.
Coordinate failure analysis activities and address the root cause with OSATs and QA.
Collaborate with OSATs to implement fool-proof improvement plans for preventive/corrective actions related to quality issues.
Provide suggestions and ideas to improve work processes at Renesas.
Prefer with automotive products experience.
