Job summary

AMS-OSRAM in Malaysia seeks an experienced engineer to drive process technology from development to manufacturing. You will own control plans, ensure robust design for manufacturability, and lead site-to-site transfers with process engineering and QA.

To succeed, you should have a Master/PhD in Physics, Chemistry or Materials Science and 5+ years in semiconductor or LED fabrication, plus strong Six Sigma and DOE skillsets and fluency in English.

Qualifications

• Master or PhD in Physics, Chemistry or Materials Sciences with min 5 years experience in semiconductor or LED fabrication processes.
• Advanced problem solving skills (e.g. Six Sigma), Design of Experiments, FMEA, 8D methodology, SPC; automotive experience beneficial.
• Experience with statistical software is beneficial (e.g. Minitab).
• Excellent communication skills, technical and organizational, team player with agility, fluent English mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Introduction of new technologies into production; bridge between process development, chip development and factory process engineering; owner of control plan.
• Ensure robust process development and design for manufacturability aligned to factory capabilities.
• Lead site-to-site technology transfers, manage change and drive cross-functional discussions to improve yields and cost.

• Introduction of new technologies/platforms into production, act as bridge between unit process development, chip development and the factory´s process engineering, owner of control plan
• Ensure robust process development, design for manufacturability, fit to factory capabilities / platforms, bring mass production experience into the development process, Early involvement from R&D start to define development needs/do&don’t for manufacturing
• Clearly understand tool capabilities and influence tool roadmap as required for future technologies, achieve desired capex utilization and specified target cost goals
• Make sure to identify and monitor critical parameters (special characteristics), ensure smooth ramp-up; update control plans
• Technical Ownership for site to site technology / product transfers, ensure site synchronization including proper change management
• Lead, supervise and monitor manufacturing of the process technology in close teamwork with process engineering and quality assurance Improve yields, cost (e.g simplify process), process robustness based on inputs / requirements from yield enhancement / product owners / manufacturing / QA
• Excursion management, root cause finding, process problems solving in close teamwork with different departments (e.g. manufacturing, process development, QA, FA, product engineering, chip RnD, Test)
• Take process ownership at customer audits and for control plan related reporting to key customers.Own and maintain process deliverables (FMEA, Control Plan) from process freeze onwards , lead cross-functional technical teams and discussions

Profile description

• Master degree or PhD in Physics, Chemistry or Material Sciences with min 5 years experience in semiconductor or LED fabrication processes.
