Job summary

Omya is seeking an experienced Service Performance and Issue Resolution specialist in Kuala Lumpur to strengthen our treasury operations. You will execute end-to-end netting, settlement, and reconciliation with IFRS/GAAP, acting as escalation SME for complex issues.

You will lead process improvements, support SAP FI and Coupa Treasury upgrades, maintain SOPs, coach peers, and collaborate with IT and Shared Services to ensure timely settlements and accurate accounting.

Qualifications

• University degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics.
• 3-5 years in treasury operations, netting or related financial operations.
• Experience with SAP FI, Coupa Treasury or similar tools; reconciliations.

Responsibilities

• Execute end-to-end netting, settlement, treasury accounting and reconciliation.

Job description

Service Performance and Issue Resolution

• Execute end-to-end netting, settlement, treasury accounting, and reconciliation activities, including exception management and issue resolution, in accordance with defined procedures, controls, and accounting standards.
• Act as the escalation SME for complex netting exceptions and intercompany settlement disputes; perform root-cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain and review issue and exception logs, identify recurring process issues and trends, and drive sustainable resolution to prevent recurrence.
• Prepare operational status updates and exception reports to support month-end activities and ad hoc stakeholder reviews.

Implementation of Changes and Improvements

• Lead and contribute as SME to process improvement initiatives, automation pilots and tool enhancements for netting and treasury accounting.
• Support design, testing and deployment of system upgrades (e.g., SAP FI, Coupa Treasury) and associated work instructions.
• Document and update standard operating procedures and control matrices to reflect process changes and lessons learned.
• Propose pragmatic changes to reduce manual effort, improve accuracy and shorten cycle times; support business case and benefit tracking.
• Coach peers on new processes and tool usage to ensure consistent adoption and minimal disruption.
• Prepares and deploys related training to ensure fast and smooth onboarding of new participants, together with other OS&S process teams and/or local finance teams, where appropriate.

Process Execution and Control Management

• Ensure accuracy of treasury accounting entries related to netting and intercompany settlements in accordance with IFRS/GAAP and company policies.
• Perform reconciliations between netting outputs, general ledger balances and bank statements; investigate and resolve variances.
• Validate master data used for netting and intercompany postings, escalating discrepancies and driving corrective updates.
• Ensure timely submission and settlement of netting runs, and the resolution of open items and aged exceptions through effective coordination with Accounting, Treasury, and Shared Services partners.
• Maintain and test key controls around netting cycles, settlement flows and accounting postings to support compliance and audits.

Stakeholder Management and Communication

• Coordinate with Treasury, Intercompany Accounting, Shared Services and Financial Controllers to resolve complex issues and align on reconciliations.
• Serve as primary SME contact for internal stakeholders on netting rules, settlement timing and accounting treatment.
• Work with IT and system support teams to triage system incidents and to prioritize fixes impacting netting operations.
• Provide clear, timely communication to stakeholders on status of escalations, corrective actions and process changes.
• Support external audit requests and ad-hoc queries related to netting and intercompany settlements.

Education

• University degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or related field

Experience

• 3-5 years of experience in treasury operations, netting, intercompany settlements, or related financial operations
• Experience working with treasury and accounting systems (e.g., SAP FI, Coupa Treasury, netting tools) and performing reconciliations
• Experience performing root cause analysis and supporting system/process improvement initiatives

Knowledge and skills

• Strong expertise in netting processes, intercompany settlements and treasury accounting principles
• Solid understanding of accounting standards relevant to treasury transactions (IFRS/GAAP)
• Strong expertise with SAP FI and treasury-related modules or comparable treasury systems
• Solid understanding of internal controls and compliance requirements for treasury and accounting activities
• Excellent communication skills and ability to act as an SME with stakeholders
• Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving and process-orientation skills

• High level of confidentiality when handling sensitive treasury and financial information
