Job summary

Oriental Fastech Manufacturing Sdn. Bhd. (OFM) in Bukit Minyak Industrial Area seeks an experienced purchasing/procurement professional to drive supplier selection, cost management and material planning in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.

The role requires strong negotiation, analytical and communication skills, with experience in ERP systems and Excel. Multitasking across multiple priorities and willingness to travel for supplier visits are needed.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in supply chain management, purchasing, business, engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in sourcing, purchasing or procurement, preferably in manufacturing.
• Strong supplier sourcing, negotiation and cost management skills.
• Good understanding of materials, manufacturing processes and technical requirements.
• Strong analytical, communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Identify, evaluate and develop new suppliers based on quality, cost, delivery and capability.
• Manage existing suppliers and maintain strong supplier relationships.
• Source materials, components, tooling and services according to company requirements.
• Manage purchase requisitions, RFQs, purchase orders and supplier follow-ups.
• Ensure materials are purchased at the right quality, quantity, price and delivery time.
• Obtain and analyze supplier quotations and conduct price comparisons.
• Lead price negotiation, cost reduction and commercial improvement initiatives.
• Monitor supplier performance including Quality, Cost and Delivery (QCD).
• Maintain purchasing records, supplier database and sourcing documentation.
• Guide junior purchasing/sourcing team members and support daily purchasing activities.

Job description

This role encompasses sourcing and supplier management, purchasing and material planning, cost and commercial management, supplier quality and performance monitoring, reporting and compliance, and team collaboration across cross‑functional departments in a manufacturing environment.

About you

• Experience in Sheet Metal, CNC Machining, Precision Engineering or Industrial Manufacturing is an advantage
• Mandarin speaking is an advantage for communication with China‑based suppliers
• Willing to travel for supplier visits or business requirements when necessary
