Job summary

Seargin Ltd in Malaysia is seeking a Senior Cloud Platform Engineer to drive technical ownership, shape platform direction, and advance cloud-native solutions across AWS, Kubernetes, and Java-based services. You will work with cross-functional teams, implement IaC, and improve reliability and security.

The role requires 5+ years in software engineering or cloud operations, hands-on AWS, microservices, REST APIs, and DevOps tooling such as GitLab and Terraform.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of professional experience in software engineering, SysOps, API engineering, or a similar role, including software development and operations in cloud environments.
• Hands-on experience with microservices architecture, AWS or other public cloud platforms, REST API design, pub/sub messaging, and event-driven architecture.
• Practical experience with one or more programming languages, preferably Java and Spring Boot, scripting languages, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps tools such as GitLab, Terraform, and EKS.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code, automated delivery processes, and applying AI technologies within the software development lifecycle.
• Solid understanding of cloud security, resilience, reliability engineering, and operational best practices.
• Ability to take technical ownership, collaborate across functional teams, communicate effectively with technical and business stakeholders, and work independently in an agile environment with a customer-oriented mindset.
• Experience with automated testing, code reviews, and maintaining high-quality, maintainable software.

Responsibilities

• Drive Technical Ownership and Continuous Improvement across cloud platforms.
• Develop and operate cloud platform services, APIs, automation, Infrastructure-as-Code modules, and backend components using Java, Spring Boot, AWS, Kubernetes, and cloud-native technologies.
• Ensure Performance, Reliability, and Operational Stability through robust design, testing, reliability engineering, controlled deployments, rollback planning, and advanced third-level support.
• Maintain Engineering Quality and Security with secure coding, testing, observability, performance, and documentation standards; lead code reviews and refactoring; contribute to DevSecOps maturity and cloud engineering objectives.
• Collaborate and mentor Engineering Teams with Product Owners, DevSecOps engineers, architects, and platform engineers to align solutions with goals and foster agile collaboration.
• Improve Development Lifecycle and Engineering Standards by using modern technologies (including AI) and contributing to technical strategy, engineering standards, and continuous process improvement.

Requirements

• Software Engineering and Cloud Operations Experience
  • At least 5 years of professional experience in software engineering, SysOps, API engineering, or a similar role, including software development and operations in cloud environments.
• Cloud Architecture and Platform Technologies
  • Hands-on experience with microservices architecture, AWS or other public cloud platforms, REST API design, pub/sub messaging, and event-driven architecture.
