Job summary

Jotun Paints (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. in Shah Alam is seeking a highly skilled R&D Senior Chemist to join the Protective team. The role focuses on developing new coatings, improving existing products and solving technical challenges within a collaborative, cross-regional setup.

You will perform research activities from formulate to evaluate, analyze data with statistics, and communicate findings clearly to stakeholders. A strong English ability and lab discipline are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of work experience in coatings or related industry; flooring experience is a plus.
• Knowledge of statistics, design of experiments and data analysis is advantageous.
• Proficiency in verbal and written English is required.

Responsibilities

• Carry out research activities through careful planning, formulation, testing and evaluating formulations.
• Contribute to the department’s competence and cross-regional collaboration.
• Use statistical tools to plan and analyze experiments and report results clearly.
• Maintain a tidy, safe and efficient laboratory workspace and support daily operations.
