Sika is a specialty chemicals company with a globally leading position in bonding, sealing, damping, reinforcing, and protection in building and industrial manufacturing. The role sits in the Global R&D department and focuses on cementitious materials and concrete technology.

As a Senior Lab Scientist, you will improve and develop formulations, evaluate raw materials, organize projects, and ensure safety, EHS compliance, and lab housekeeping while collaborating with QC and field teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in science/ applied science (Chemistry) required.
• 3–5 years of R&D experience in cementitious materials or related areas.
• Strong analytical, planning and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Improve existing formulations for performance and cost to meet market needs.
• Develop new products to meet market needs.
• Evaluate and approve alternative raw materials for cost/performance.
• Organize and prioritize projects to meet timelines with lab manager and TMM/ LET.
• Perform production trials for improved and new formulations after lab trials justification.
• Conduct lab tests with customers when necessary.
• Perform field tests with customers and/or TSD personnel at sites.
• Run plant trials for grinding aid in cement plants when necessary.
• Maintain lab cleanliness and equipment functionality at all times.
• Ensure safety and environmental compliance per policy.
• Interface proactively between R&D and QC; back up QC when needed.
• Manage Bills of Materials for changes to materials/formulations.

Education
