Comet Technologies Malaysia Sdn Bhd is seeking a Senior Facilities Engineer for our Penang site. You will lead design, installation, commissioning, operation, and maintenance of critical mechanical facility systems supporting semiconductor manufacturing.

You will manage facilities projects from planning through execution, ensuring delivery on time and within budget while upholding safety, quality, and reliability standards. A hands-on leader with strong stakeholder management is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Facilities Engineering, or related field.
• 3-7 years of facilities engineering experience in semiconductor manufacturing.
• Experience with mechanical utility systems, design, installation, commissioning, operation, & maintenance.
• Experience managing facilities projects, contractors, vendors, and service providers.

• Lead design, installation, commissioning, operation, and maintenance of critical mechanical facility systems for semiconductor manufacturing.
• Manage facilities projects from planning through execution, ensuring on-time delivery and budget adherence.
• Oversee testing, commissioning, and readiness activities for new production lines and expansions.
• Troubleshoot complex mechanical issues, drive reliability improvements, and implement energy efficiency initiatives.
• Provide technical leadership to engineers, contractors, and vendors while ensuring compliance and risk management.

Senior Facilities Engineer

In the Plasma Control Technologies (PCT) division, we manufacture specialized components that are required for the precise control of plasma processes and are used in the production of memory chips or touch screens for sensors, smartphones or tablets.

What You'll Do

• Lead the design, installation, commissioning, operation, and maintenance of critical mechanical facility systems supporting semiconductor manufacturing.
• Manage facilities and infrastructure projects from planning through execution, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and according to safety, quality, and reliability standards.
• Oversee testing, commissioning, equipment hook-ups, and facilities readiness activities for new production lines, expansions, and upgrades.
• Troubleshoot complex mechanical system issues, drive reliability improvements, and implement energy efficiency and cost optimization initiatives.
• Provide technical leadership to engineering teams, contractors, and vendors while ensuring regulatory compliance, risk management, and operational excellence.

What You'll Bring

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Facilities Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• 3-7 years of experience in facilities engineering within semiconductor manufacturing, with strong exposure to mechanical utility systems.
• Proven expertise in mechanical system design, installation, commissioning, operation, and maintenance of critical facilities infrastructure.
• Experience managing facilities projects, contractors, consultants, vendors, and engineering service providers.
• Strong problem-solving, technical leadership, and stakeholder management skills, with knowledge of infrastructure readiness, testing & commissioning, and reliability engineering.
