Job summary

Send is a community-first tech startup building smart, inclusive solutions for everyday businesses. This role owns risk-based testing and automation across mobile, web, and APIs, strengthening release evidence and mentorship for QA engineers.

You will define test strategy, ensure web/API coverage, integrate tests into CI/CD, and provide actionable release-readiness guidance, leveraging AI tools to improve efficiency and quality.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated senior-level ownership of test strategy and production release quality.
• Maintainable test design including Page Object Model or equivalent.
• API testing and investigating failures using logs, network responses, and SQL checks where relevant.
• CI/CD integration and handling flaky tests without hiding real failures.
• Experience coaching QA engineers into automation and communicating release risks to stakeholders.
• Ability to guide QA with AI tools (Claude/OpenAI) for requirements analysis and test design.
• Clear context and instructions to AI, with responsibility for final output.

The role

Own risk-based testing and automation for Send Services across mobile, web, and APIs. You will strengthen release evidence and help QA engineers build sustainable automation skills.

Responsibilities

• Define test strategy, coverage priorities, and entry and exit criteria for feature and regression testing.
• Establish appropriate web and API coverage, combining automated checks with exploratory testing.
• Integrate tests into CI/CD and improve suite reliability, isolated test data, execution time, and actionable failure reports.
• Maintain traceability between requirements, test cases, executions, and defects in Jira and a test-management tool.
• Validate critical journeys such as authentication, ordering, payments, and failure recovery.
• Provide independent release-readiness recommendations based on test evidence and unresolved risks.
• Mentor QA engineers in automation, test design, and reproducible defect reporting.

Required qualifications

• Demonstrated senior-level ownership of test strategy and production release quality.
• Maintainable test design, including Page Object Model or equivalent, stable selectors, independent tests, and controlled test state.
• API testing and the ability to investigate failures using logs, network responses, and SQL checks where relevant.
• CI/CD integration and systematic handling of flaky tests without hiding real failures.
• Jira and a test-management tool such as Xray, TestRail, or Zephyr; clear written test cases and defect reports.
• Experience coaching QA engineers into automation and communicating release risks to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to use AI tools such as Claude and OpenAI products to improve work productivity: analyze requirements, design test scenarios including edge and negative cases, prepare automation scripts and synthetic test data, and analyze test failures; able to guide the QA team in effective AI use.
• Ability to provide clear context and instructions to AI, critically review and test its output, and explain resulting improvements in turnaround time or quality. Retain responsibility for the final work and protect code, credentials, and confidential data in line with company policy.

Preferred qualifications

• Playwright, Cypress, or equivalent web automation tools.
• Payments, identity integrations, migration testing, or staged cutovers.
• Visual regression, performance testing, and accessibility testing.

Success in this role

Critical journeys have trustworthy coverage and traceable evidence. Automation failures are actionable, release risks are explicit, and other QA engineers can maintain and extend the suites.
