Job summary

Pembinaan Mitrajaya Sdn Bhd is seeking a seasoned QA/QC Lead to oversee all QA/QC activities on a major construction project in Malaysia. You will ensure compliance with the QESH Management System and ISO standards, review PQP/ITPs, and lead the QA/QC team to implement quality control across civil, structural, architectural, mechanical, electrical and fire protection works.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Quality related field/Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 8 years QA/QC experience in construction, data centre projects is a plus.
• Self-motivated, initiative, independent with good interpersonal skills.
• Experience coordinating and monitoring site works per ISO requirements and contractual specifications.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, proactive, results-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all QA/QC activities for the construction project, ensuring compliance with the Company's QESH Management System, ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 requirements.
• Ensure all construction works comply with approved drawings, specifications, contract requirements, client requirements and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements.
• Prepare, implement, review and update the Project Quality Plan (PQP), Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), Method Statements and other project quality procedures.
• Lead and supervise the QA/QC team and ensure effective implementation of quality control and inspection activities throughout the project.
• Brief and guide project personnel, subcontractors and relevant parties on quality requirements, procedures, specifications and client requirements.
• Review and monitor material submissions, samples, test certificates, Method Statements, ITPs and other quality-related documents to ensure compliance and obtain the required approvals.
• Plan, coordinate and conduct inspections and quality surveillance for civil, structural, architectural, mechanical, electrical and fire protection works at various stages of construction.
• Monitor site workmanship, materials and installation works to identify quality issues and ensure corrective actions are carried out promptly.
• Manage the Non-Conformance Report (NCR) process, including identification, root cause, corrective action, follow-up and timely closure.
• Coordinate with the Project Manager, consultants, clients, subcontractors, suppliers and third-party inspectors on quality-related matters and resolve quality issues effectively.
• Monitor and coordinate testing, commissioning and inspection activities to ensure works are properly tested, verified and documented in accordance with project requirements.
• Conduct and coordinate internal, client and external quality audits, and ensure audit findings and observations are properly addressed and closed.
• Monitor project quality performance, identify quality risks and recurring issues, and recommend appropriate corrective, preventive and improvement actions to reduce defects and rework.
• Prepare and maintain daily, weekly and monthly QA/QC reports, inspection records, test reports, NCR records and other quality documentation.
• Lead punch list, snagging and rectification activities and ensure all outstanding quality issues are resolved prior to project handover.
• Ensure the proper compilation and completion of Quality Records, As-Built Documents, Testing & Commissioning Records and Handover Dossiers.
• Report significant quality issues, NCR status, audit findings and overall project quality performance to the Project Manager and Management.
• Promote a strong quality culture and continual improvement throughout the project and perform any other QA/QC duties as assigned by Management.
