Job summary

ICHOR Systems Malaysia Sdn Bhd is seeking a Senior QA Engineer to lead quality initiatives, manage customer incidents, and drive continuous improvement across operations. You will partner with Operations and cross-functional teams to identify risks and implement corrective actions that strengthen product and process quality.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in a technical field and 5–7 years of QA/QE experience in manufacturing, with strong root-cause analysis and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, quality, manufacturing or related technical discipline.
• 5–7 years of relevant QA/QE experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience in customer complaint and incident management, RCA and CAPA.
• Proficiency with quality tools such as 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone, SPC, FMEA.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration with operations and engineering.
• Strong analytical and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

Job description

The Senior QA Engineer is responsible for managing quality matters within the QA function, leading customer incident resolution, and driving continuous quality improvement across the relevant operations area. The role partners closely with Operations and cross-functional teams to identify quality risks, implement corrective and preventive actions, and strengthen overall product and process quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage quality matters and provide technical support within the QA function.
• Lead customer incident and complaint investigation, including containment, root cause analysis, and 8D/CAPA.
• Collaborate with Operations and cross-functional teams to resolve quality issues and prevent recurrence.
• Drive quality improvement initiatives within the assigned operation area to improve yield, reduce defects, and strengthen process quality.
• Monitor quality performance, trends, and key metrics; identify risks and improvement opportunities.
• Support process and product quality activities, including PFMEA, Control Plan, SPC, and process changes.
• Ensure compliance with customer requirements, quality standards, and internal procedures.
• Lead and support internal, customer, and external audits and closure of findings.
• Provide quality guidance and coaching to QA Engineers and relevant stakeholders.
• Report quality performance, customer incidents, and improvement progress to management.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum 5–7 years of relevant experience in Quality Assurance/Quality Engineering, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience in customer complaint and incident management, root cause analysis, and corrective/preventive actions.
• Strong knowledge of quality tools such as 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone Analysis, SPC, FMEA, and related problem-solving methodologies.
• Experience working cross-functionally with Operations, Engineering, and other manufacturing functions.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
