Flex, a diversified manufacturing partner, is hiring a Purchasing Manager Direct in Prai, Penang. You will oversee direct-material procurement, lead a buyers/expeditors team, and drive supplier performance to meet delivery and quality targets.

The role requires strategic procurement leadership with a strong track record in managing direct materials, contracts, and inventory. Penang-based, on-site role offering growth and exposure across global supply chains.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in procurement.
• Typically requires a minimum of 10 years of related experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee procurement for direct materials, parts and components.
• Lead a team of buyers and expeditors to meet delivery timelines.
• Develop and implement procurement policies and supplier strategies.
• Ensure on-time delivery and supplier performance.
• Prepare, approve and issue purchase orders and change notices.
• Negotiate major contracts with suppliers and optimize costs.
• Monitor supplier performance and conduct reviews.
• Maintain inventory targets and raw material supply balance.
• Collaborate with senior management on procurement initiatives.
