Job summary

Honeywell Malaysia is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead planning, execution and delivery of complex data centre projects. You will govern programs, manage clients, budgets, schedules, and risk, while guiding multidisciplinary teams to meet safety and quality standards.

You will drive governance, stakeholder engagement, and commercial performance, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget and in compliance with contractual obligations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
• Professional certs such as PMP or PRINCE2 or equivalent.
• 10+ years of project delivery experience in construction/engineering environments.
• Experience delivering large-scale data centre projects (>$10–$100M).
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and work with hyperscale/enterprise clients.
• Strong knowledge of construction contracts and procurement strategies.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement project delivery strategies aligned with business objectives.
• Lead end-to-end delivery of hyperscale, colocation, or enterprise data centre projects.
• Oversee scope, budget, schedule, quality and resources.
• Coordinate design, engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and operations.

• Lead risk mitigation, health, safety and compliance programs.
• Coach and develop project managers and engineering leads.

The Senior Project Manager will lead the planning, execution, and delivery of complex, mission-critical data centre projects. The role is accountable for programme governance, client management, commercial performance, schedule adherence, risk management, stakeholder engagement, and leadership of multidisciplinary project teams. The Project Director will ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards while meeting operational and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

• Develop and implement project delivery strategies aligned with business objectives.
• Establish governance frameworks, reporting structures, and performance metrics.
• Drive continuous improvement and best practices in project delivery.

Project Delivery

• Lead the end-to-end delivery of hyperscale, colocation, or enterprise data centre projects.
• Oversee project scope, budget, schedule, quality, and resource management.
• Ensure successful coordination between design, engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and operations teams.
• Manage critical project milestones and resolve complex delivery challenges.

Client & Stakeholder Management

• Act as the primary senior point of contact for clients and executive stakeholders.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, contractors, consultants, and regulatory authorities.
• Lead executive steering committees and project status reviews.
• Manage stakeholder expectations and communicate project progress effectively.

Commercial Management

• Monitor project financial performance, including budgets, forecasts, contingencies, and cash flow.
• Lead contract negotiations and commercial discussions with suppliers and contractors.
• Identify and mitigate commercial risks.
• Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and governance requirements.

Risk, Safety & Compliance

• Champion a culture of health, safety, and environmental excellence.
• Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, regulations, and company policies.
• Lead risk identification, mitigation planning, and issue resolution.
• Plan quality assurance and commissioning activities for mission-critical systems.
• Lead and mentor project managers, technician leads, engineers, and support functions.
• Develop high-performing teams through coaching and performance management.
• Drive collaboration across internal and external stakeholders.
• Support workforce planning and talent development initiatives.

Technical Responsibilities

• Oversee delivery of critical infrastructure systems including:
• HVAC and cooling infrastructure
• BMS and EPMS systems
• Ensure successful integrated systems testing (IST) and commissioning.
• Support operational readiness and transition to facility operations teams.

Must have

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or related discipline.
• Professional certification such as PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent.
• 10+ years of project delivery experience within construction, engineering, or mission-critical environments.
• Significant experience delivering large-scale data centre projects, typically exceeding $10 - $100 million in value.
• Proven experience managing complex multidisciplinary teams.
• Demonstrated success in delivering projects for hyperscale, colocation, or enterprise clients.
• Strong knowledge of construction contracts and procurement strategies.
