Job summary

HSP Power Systems in Malaysia is seeking a Project Engineer to plan, coordinate and execute end-to-end project activities for generator set supply, installation, testing and commissioning.

You will manage project scope, read technical drawings, coordinate with clients and vendors, monitor risks, ensure safety and quality, and lead FAT/SAT and site handovers. On-site in Johor with travel to site locations as needed.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Machatronics Engineering or related Engineering fields.
• Minimum 3 years of project engineering experience, preferably in the generator set, power systems, or heavy-duty equipment industry.
• Strong knowledge of project management practices and site coordination.
• Experience in data center projects is an added advantage.
• Ability to read technical drawings and perform basic calculations related to installation specifications.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
• Willing to be fully based on-site in Johor and travel to project locations when required.
• Able to work independently and handle multiple projects simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Manage full project lifecycle from initial planning, procurement, delivery, installation, site supervision, testing, and commissioning of generator sets and related equipment.
• Coordinate with clients, contractors, vendors, and internal departments to ensure smooth project execution and compliance with technical specifications.
• Conduct site assessments, verify installation quality, and ensure adherence to safety and regulatory requirements.
• Prepare project schedules, progress reports, technical documentation, and handover documents.
• Monitor project risks, resolve site issues, and implement corrective actions to avoid delays and cost overruns.
• Ensure proper execution of factory acceptance tests (FAT), site acceptance tests (SAT), and commissioning activities.
• Participate in client meetings, technical discussions, and project review sessions.
• Ensure all project activities align with the company’s standards and requirements of the power generator set industry.
