Job summary

HSP Power Systems in Malaysia is seeking a Project Engineer to lead end-to-end planning, coordination, and execution of generator set supply, installation, testing, and commissioning on-site.

You will manage schedules, coordinate with clients and vendors, ensure safety and quality, read drawings, and support FAT/SAT; 3+ years of PM experience preferred; role based on-site in Johor with occasional travel.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Machatronic Engineering or related Engineering fields.
• Minimum 3 years of project engineering experience, preferably in generator sets, power systems, or heavy equipment.
• Strong knowledge of project management practices and site coordination.
• Experience in data center projects is an added advantage.
• Ability to read technical drawings and perform basic installation calculations.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
• Willing to be fully based on-site in Johor and travel to project locations as needed.

• Monitor project risks, resolve site issues, and implement corrective actions to avoid delays and costs.
• Ensure FAT, SAT, and commissioning activities are properly executed.
• Participate in client meetings, technical discussions, and project review sessions.
• Ensure all activities align with company standards and power generator set industry requirements.

Job description

This position is needed to be fully on-site and is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing end-to-end project activities related to power generator set supply, installation, testing, and commissioning. Ensures projects are delivered according to specifications, timelines, safety requirements, and quality standards while maintaining effective communication with clients and internal teams.

Job Responsibilities:

Manage full project lifecycle from initial planning, procurement, delivery, installation, site supervision, testing, and commissioning of generator sets and related equipment.

Coordinate with clients, contractors, vendors, and internal departments to ensure smooth project execution and compliance with technical specifications.

Conduct site assessments, verify installation quality, and ensure adherence to safety and regulatory requirements.

Prepare project schedules, progress reports, technical documentation, and handover documents.

Monitor project risks, resolve site issues, and implement corrective actions to avoid delays and cost overruns.

Ensure proper execution of factory acceptance tests (FAT), site acceptance tests (SAT), and commissioning activities.

Participate in client meetings, technical discussions, and project review sessions.

Ensure all project activities align with the company’s standards and requirements of the power generator set industry.

Requirements:

Diploma or Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Machatronic Engineering or related Engineering fields.

Minimum 3 years of project engineering experience, preferably in the generator set, power systems, or heavy-duty equipment industry.

Strong knowledge of project management practices and site coordination.

Experience in data center projects is an added advantage.

Ability to read technical drawings and perform basic calculations related to installation specifications.

Strong communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.

Willing to be fully based on-site in Johor and travel to project locations when required.

Able to work independently and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
