Job summary

Flintex Consulting Pte Ltd in Malaysia seeks a Progressive Tooling Engineer with 5+ years of hands-on experience in tooling and precision machining. You will oversee the machining, maintenance, inspection and improvement of progressive press tools and related tooling to meet tight tolerances.

You will lead CNC, EDM and grinding activities, troubleshoot tooling issues, train apprentices and ensure tooling quality aligns with ISO standards.

Qualifications

Diploma or degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering or related field.
Minimum 5 years in progressive tooling or similar manufacturing.
7–10 years for Senior Engineer level
Hands-on tooling experience in progressive dies and press tooling is highly desirable

Responsibilities

Tooling & Precision Machining: Manufacture and machine progressive press tools and tooling components; machine moulding, forging and die‑casting tooling components; precision machining of complex profiles; achieve tight tolerances.
CNC, EDM & Grinding: Oversee CNC machining; perform precision grinding and surface finishing; carry out EDM/WEDM where required.
Tool Maintenance & Repair: Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance; troubleshoot tooling problems; repair/modify tooling components; minimize downtime.
Measurement & Quality Control: Verify tooling against drawings; ensure quality and ISO compliance.
Technical Support & Continuous Improvement: Provide technical support to teams; identify improvement opportunities; support problem solving.
Training & Knowledge Transfer: Train toolmakers and apprentices; share machining and measurement techniques.
