Job summary

Combi-Pack Sdn Bhd in Malaysia seeks an experienced Production Planning Specialist to manage the Master Production Schedule (MPS) and release production/ manufacturing orders in Syspro/SBMS. You will ensure alignment between planned and released quantities, lead daily production coordination with shop floor and department heads, and maintain ERP/MRP data integrity for on-time delivery.

Candidates should have 3–5 years in production planning, a related Diploma/Degree, and strong Excel and ERP

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in production planning, scheduling, or operations management within a manufacturing environment.
• In-depth knowledge of MPS, MRP, BOM management, routing, capacity planning, and revision control.
• Proficient in Syspro and SBMS; able to configure, troubleshoot, and optimize system transactions to support planning accuracy.
• Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, conditional formatting, and dashboard/reporting tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop, review, and authorise the release of production Job Orders and Manufacturing Orders based on approved schedules and BOMs.
• Establish and enforce pre-release verification standards covering item code, quantity, due date, and packaging; resolve mismatches before issuing orders.
• Lead daily production coordination with Shop Floor supervisors and department heads to ensure adherence to planned sequences and priorities.
• Own the Master Production Schedule (MPS); conduct daily/weekly reviews, analyse variances, and implement recovery plans for disruptions.
• Oversee daily production performance monitoring and present insights to drive on-time delivery.
• Maintain data integrity across planning worksheets and ERP/MRP systems; reconcile daily output and completion records.
• Coordinate with Procurement/Warehouse/QA for material readiness and mitigate supply risks.
• Govern carton label and artwork control processes; ensure version control and traceability of labels.
• Oversee timely job closure in Syspro/SBMS and ensure accurate postings at month-end.
• Lead or support cross-functional improvement projects and capacity studies as required.
• Lead discussions with Production, Procurement, Warehouse, QA and senior management to drive planning improvements.
