Job summary

Caplugs Protective Components (Malaysia) SDN. BHD. is seeking a seasoned engineer to drive NPI programs in rubber product manufacturing. You will be the primary technical contact for customers, guiding quotation activities and ensuring design, cost, and delivery targets are met.

Qualifications

• 3–8 years of experience in product engineering, technical engineering or project management in rubber products manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 quality systems; APQP experience.
• Fluent in English and Mandarin (spoken and written); MS Office proficiency; ERP experience a plus.
• Ability to adapt to fast-paced environments with attention to detail.
• Excellent teamwork and cross-functional collaboration abilities.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills.
• Good project management skills to coordinate multiple activities and stakeholders.
• Proactive, responsible and self-motivated; capable under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Act as the key technical contact with customers, leading new product quotation activities and providing end-to-end technical support.
• Manage full lifecycle of NPI projects from concept to mass production.
• Lead product change evaluation and implementation with internal teams and customers.
• Communicate with stakeholders at all levels and coordinate resources for project execution.
• Conduct regular project meetings; track issues, risks, and mitigation plans.
• Ensure proper documentation and record management for product development.
• Represent the project team in internal and external audits.
• Establish and lead cross-functional project teams for effective execution.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Responsibilities

• Act as the key technical contact point with customers, leading new product quotation activities, evaluating the reasonableness of technical and costing parameters, and providing end-to-end technical support throughout the rubber product development process.

• Manage the full lifecycle of New Product Introduction (NPI) projects from initial concept, development, and validation through mass production, ensuring project objectives are achieved in terms of quality, cost, and delivery timeline.

• Lead product change evaluation and implementation activities, collaborating with internal teams and external customers to ensure successful completion of engineering changes.

• Effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels and coordinate sufficient resources, including manpower and equipment, to support project execution.

• Conduct regular project meetings and monitor outstanding issues, including key action items, project bottlenecks, potential risks, mitigation plans, and lessons learned.

• Ensure proper documentation and record management for all product development activities, including engineering change documentation.

• Represent the project team in internal and external audits, including customer and supplier-related audits.

• Establish, coordinate, and lead cross-functional project teams to ensure effective and organized project execution.

• Perform any other duties and responsibilities assigned by the superior.

Job Requirements

• Minimum 3–8 years of experience in product engineering, technical engineering, project management, or related roles within the rubber products / manufacturing industry.

• Good knowledge and understanding of IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 quality management systems, with basic knowledge of APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) procedures.

• Strong communication skills in English and Mandarin (spoken and written) to effectively communicate with customers and internal stakeholders. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is required; experience with ERP systems will be an added advantage.

• Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining strong attention to detail.

• Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

• Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills, with the ability to make sound decisions based on business and technical requirements.

• Good project management skills with the ability to coordinate multiple activities and stakeholders.

• Proactive, responsible, self-motivated, and able to work effectively under pressure.
