Jora Malaysia will close on 9th September 2026. Thank you for being with us, we are cheering you on as you continue your career journey.
As an Assistant Sourcing Manager (12-Month FTT), you will be based on-site in our Petaling Jaya office. You are expected to move past basic administrative execution and act as a true commercial advisor. You will run sourcing workstreams, build cost models that actually support decision-making, and learn to use AI and low-code tools to accelerate your analysis and automate routine tasks. The business will look to you to handle misalignment early, clarify constraints, and prepare negotiation trade-offs that set senior leaders up for success.
Responsibilities:
- Drive Sourcing Execution: Run medium-complexity sourcing workstreams with clear plans, sequencing, and milestones.
- Clarify & Align: Handle misalignment early through direct stakeholder engagement. Clarify requirements, scope, constraints, and success metrics.
- Analyze & Strategize: Conduct spend analysis, supplier profiling, and opportunity mapping. Draft business cases and sourcing strategies.
- Manage Go-to-Market: Design RFQs/RFPs (questions, evaluation logic, timelines, governance). Build cost models, quote comparisons, and what-if scenarios that actually support decision-making.
- Negotiate & Document: Prepare negotiation positions and trade-offs for senior leaders. Document decisions cleanly, outlining risks, trade-offs, and rationale.
- Coordinate SMEs: Ensure timely inputs from Legal, Compliance, VenSec, and other subject matter experts.
- Explore Tech & Automation: Actively learn and apply low-code/no-code tools and AI assistants to streamline your category workflows (e.g., simplifying contract reviews or accelerating data analysis).
What you brings:
- Commercial Strategy & Value Creation: You understand how Procurement creates value beyond price. You build structured business cases, articulate cost drivers, and link options back to business priorities. You practice modern negotiation fundamentals (building plans, BATNAs, red lines) and define post-award success metrics.
- Stakeholder Influence & Storytelling: You frame problems clearly and move stakeholders from facts → insight → recommendation. You manage expectations diplomatically and influence stakeholders who want agreement but need clarity.
- Execution Excellence: You sequence work flawlessly, flag risks early, and propose actionable mitigations.
- Tech Adaptability & AI Leverage: You move beyond basic charts to true insights. You are curious and willing to learn 'citizen developer' skills—using low-code/no-code platforms and AI tools to increase speed and reduce manual work, always applying human judgment to validate outputs.
- Risk, Controls & Responsible Procurement: You understand why controls exist. You propose proportional controls (avoiding blanket friction) and know exactly when to loop in SMEs early.
- Supplier & Contract Outcomes: You can advise on appropriate contract structures and spot key commercial clauses that directly impact delivery.
- Change, Learning & Adaptability: You own outcomes within your scope and can successfully influence without formal authority.
