Job summary

Emerson Japan, Ltd. is seeking an experienced Manufacturing/Process Engineer to own end-to-end PCBA and final assembly processes in Penang. You will establish control plans, PFMEA, and SPC, leading structured problem solving for yield, quality and line stoppages.

You will drive Lean CI, set targets for yield and cost, and justify capital investments in equipment and automation. The role includes NPI support with R&D, ECO/ECN management, and cross-functional leadership across Quality, Supply

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in an engineering field.
12+ years in electronics manufacturing with 5+ years leading engineers.
Hands-on PCBA processes knowledge (SMT, soldering, inspection) and IPC/J-STD-001 familiarity.
Proven track record improving yield, quality or cost using SPC, FMEA and structured problem solving.
Experience managing maintenance and preventive maintenance activities.

Responsibilities

Own end-to-end manufacturing processes for PCBA and final assembly/test.
Establish process controls: PFMEA, control plans, work instructions, SPC, Cpk targets.
Lead 8D, DMAIC, root cause and corrective action for yield and quality issues.
Set annual targets for first-pass yield, scrap, cycle time, cost of poor quality; drive Lean CI.
Lead process development and qualification for new products; manage ECO/ECN and transfers.
