Job summary

Flex is seeking a Process Development Engineering Manager in Prai, Penang, to lead a team of process engineers focused on advancing manufacturing capabilities for PCBA. The role emphasizes DOE, SPC, process documentation, and collaboration to deliver products that meet specification, delivery, and cost targets.

The successful candidate will have 8+ years in PCBA manufacturing (SMT, wave soldering) and strong technical leadership across multiple sites, with a track record of driving improvements

Qualifications

• Typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent experience and training.
• Master’s or MBA degree is preferred.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in PCBA manufacturing, including SMT, wave soldering, and backend process development.
• Strong technical expertise in new component package and soldering chemistry qualifications, with DOE and data analysis skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage a team of engineers and technicians to establish processes and SPC systems.
• Establish and improve process capabilities for PCBA manufacturing.
• Develop and maintain process documentation and standards.
• Lead development projects to meet product specs, delivery, and cost goals.
• Collaborate with other engineers to design manufacturable products.
• Improve throughput in constrained areas and reduce costs where possible.
• Develop, test, and implement new materials and processes for performance gains.
• Coordinate initiatives to increase throughput and improve performance across sites.
• Implement HR strategies to recruit and retain a qualified workforce.
