Job summary

Sandisk in Penang, Malaysia, seeks a Process Engineer to develop, optimize, and maintain mechanical assembly and selective wave soldering processes in a semiconductor manufacturing setting.

The role leads DOE and root-cause analyses to boost yield and quality, collaborates with R&D, manufacturing and quality to support NPI and mass production, and implements new tooling and equipment for process improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, or Manufacturing Engineering.
• Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in semiconductor manufacturing process field.

Responsibilities

• Develop, optimize, and maintain mechanical assembly process and selective wave soldering process.
• Lead process characterization, DOE, and root cause analysis for yield and quality improvement.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including R&D, manufacturing, and quality to support NPI and mass production.
• Evaluate and implement new equipment, tooling, and process technologies.
• Create and maintain process documentation, including work instructions, control plans, and FMEAs.
• Provide technical training and guidance to production and engineering teams.
• Monitor process KPIs and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support customer audits and technical reviews.
• Drive for process cpk improvement to meet cpk goal of >1.67 and stretch goal of >2.0.
• Drive for process yield FPY improvement to meet >99.5%.
