Job summary

Hirehub Group in Malaysia seeks an experienced Process Engineer to develop, optimise and improve manufacturing processes. You will lead NPI, trial production and mass transfer, while collaborating with Production, Quality, Equipment and R&D teams to resolve cross-functional issues.

The role requires a Diploma or Bachelor’s in Mechanical/Manufacturing/Materials/Industrial Engineering and about 5 years in process/manufacturing engineering, with Mandarin and English proficiency preferred.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing/Materials/Industrial Engineering or related field.
• Approximately 5 years of experience in process/manufacturing engineering or related role.
• Hands-on experience in manufacturing process optimisation, process troubleshooting and continuous improvement.
• Familiarity with RCA, 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone Diagram and other problem-solving methods.
• Proficiency in Mandarin and English preferred for work-related communication.

Responsibilities

• Develop, optimise and improve manufacturing processes to enhance production efficiency, product quality and equipment utilisation.
• Analyse and resolve process abnormalities, technical issues and quality problems with effective CAPA actions.
• Optimise production workflows, parameters and standards to reduce costs and improve yield.
• Lead NPI, new process development, trial production and mass transfer ramp-up.
• Develop, review and maintain SOPs, process flow charts and work instructions.
• Collaborate with Production, Quality, Equipment and R&D to resolve cross-functional issues.
• Monitor production performance through data analysis and implement yield and capacity improvements.
• Evaluate, commission and validate equipment, jigs and fixtures for production readiness.
• Provide guidance to junior engineers and production staff to strengthen process knowledge.

Job Description (JD)

• Develop, optimise and continuously improve manufacturing processes to enhance production efficiency, product quality and equipment utilisation.
• Analyse and resolve process abnormalities, technical issues and quality problems, implementing effective corrective and preventive actions.
• Optimise production workflows, process parameters and operating standards to reduce manufacturing costs, minimise material waste and improve product yield.
• Lead new product introduction (NPI), new process development, trial production and mass production transfer activities to ensure smooth production ramp-up.
• Develop, review and maintain process documentation, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), process flow charts, work instructions and other technical documents.
• Work closely with Production, Quality, Equipment and R&D teams to resolve cross-functional issues and drive process improvements.
• Monitor production performance through data analysis and implement initiatives to improve yield, capacity and overall manufacturing efficiency.
• Evaluate, introduce, commission and validate equipment, jigs and fixtures to ensure they meet production requirements.
• Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and production personnel to strengthen process knowledge and problem-solving capabilities.
• Ensure manufacturing processes comply with company quality standards, safety requirements and relevant industry regulations.
• Lead or participate in continuous improvement initiatives, including lean manufacturing, defect reduction, cycle time improvement and equipment efficiency enhancement.
• Perform other process engineering and technical duties as assigned by management.

Job Requirements (JR)

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Materials Engineering, Industrial Engineering or a related field.
• Approximately 5 years or more of experience in process engineering, manufacturing engineering or a related manufacturing role.
• Hands-on experience in manufacturing process optimisation, process troubleshooting and continuous improvement.
• Good knowledge of process development, process parameter setting, production workflow optimisation and quality problem-solving.
• Experience in new product introduction (NPI), trial production validation and mass production transfer is preferred.
• Familiarity with root cause analysis (RCA), 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone Diagram and other problem-solving methodologies.
• Strong data analysis skills, with the ability to identify production issues and recommend effective improvement solutions.
• Familiarity with relevant engineering tools and software. Experience with CAD, statistical analysis tools or manufacturing ERP systems is an advantage.
• Strong cross-functional communication, project coordination and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to independently lead process improvement projects and provide technical guidance to junior engineers or technical personnel.
• Proactive, logical, detail-oriented and able to work effectively in a team.
• Proficiency in Mandarin and English is preferred for work-related communication.
