Job summary

Michael Page is partnering with a high-tech hub in Penang to recruit a Senior Principal Network Security professional. You will lead enterprise network engineering, security strategy, and operational delivery across LAN/WAN, wireless, VPN, and firewall domains.

You will guide advanced troubleshooting, vulnerability management, and security monitoring while collaborating with IT and cybersecurity teams to ensure secure, reliable operations in manufacturing and OT environments.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of enterprise network engineering and operations experience.
• Hands-on LAN/WAN/WLAN/VPN/firewall management experience.
• Expertise with Cisco, Palo Alto, Fortinet or equivalent networking tech.
• Experience leading network projects from planning to handover.
• Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis capabilities.
• Background in network security and cybersecurity best practices.
• Ability to communicate decisions and maintain operational ownership.

Responsibilities

• Manage and support enterprise network infrastructure including LAN, WAN, wireless, VPN, and firewall environments.
• Perform advanced troubleshooting and root-cause analysis of network and connectivity issues.
• Administer and maintain network security technologies, including firewalls, segmentation, access controls, and secure remote connectivity.
• Support implementation and maintenance of Cisco, Palo Alto, Fortinet, and related network technologies.
• Participate in network modernization, infrastructure upgrades, and site deployment projects.
• Support vulnerability management, security monitoring, and incident response activities.
• Assist in Azure networking and hybrid identity environments, including Active Directory and Entra ID integrations.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, operations, and cybersecurity teams to maintain secure and reliable IT environments.
• Support manufacturing and OT networking environments where required.

The Successful Applicant

A Successful Senior Principal Network Security Should Have

• 10+ years of experience in enterprise network engineering and operations.
• Strong hands-on experience managing LAN, WAN, wireless, VPN, and firewall infrastructures.
• Proven expertise with Cisco, Palo Alto, Fortinet, or equivalent enterprise networking technologies.
• Experience managing and supporting network projects from planning through implementation and operational handover.
• Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis capabilities.
• Exposure to network security, vulnerability remediation, and cybersecurity best practices.
• Ability to clearly articulate technical decisions, project involvement, and operational ownership.
