Job summary

onsemi Malaysia is seeking a Test Engineer to lead test development and engineering support for power module and discrete NPD, ensuring a smooth transition to mass production across multiple sites.

You will develop test software and hardware for high voltage, high power devices, perform product characterization, manage tester platforms, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet quality and schedule goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics or Physics.
• Good oral and written English language.
• At least 5 years hands‑on experience in semiconductor test and/or product engineering.
• Strong knowledge on power semiconductors such as IGBT, MOSFET, Rectifiers and gate drivers.
• Experienced in ETS high power test platforms or equivalent in multi‑site environment is a plus.
• Hands‑on experience with bench test equipment such as power supply, oscilloscope, function generator and curve tracer for debugging.
• Experience in dynamic testing of power semiconductors is an added advantage.
• Good programming skills in Visual C++.
• Computer literacy in MS Office, Power Point, Excel and Word.
• Team player with good interpersonal skills across locations.
• Project management skills. Results/goal oriented.

Responsibilities

• Work with Product Engineering and manufacturing test teams to support new product development and its transition to mass production at multiple sites.
• Develop and implement test software & hardware for high voltage, high power modules and discrete in final test.
• Develop test coverage to ensure no test escapees.
• Lead engineer for test solution implementation in mass production.
• Perform product characterization.
• Manage tester platform roadmap.
• Support customer related activities as needed.
