Job summary

Cape EMS Berhad in Johor, Malaysia is seeking a Senior Planner to manage production planning and master schedules, drive MRP processes, and coordinate with clients to ensure on-time delivery.

You will mentor junior planners, analyze data, monitor risks, and present reports to management, with hands-on SAP/MRP experience and strong Excel skills in a fast-paced EMS environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, Engineering or a related field.
• Hands-on experience with enterprise software with advanced proficiency in SAP or standard MRP system preferred.
• Strong analytical and math skills with advanced knowledge of MS Excel for data tracking & reporting.
• Exceptional verbal and written skills to liaise with cross functional shop-floor teams and external stakeholders.
• Ability to thrive independently in a fast-paced, high mix, low-volume production environment.
• Proven experience in managing & overseeing the entire lifecycle of customer order.

Responsibilities

• Prepare weekly & monthly Master Production Schedules (MPS).

• Coordinate directly with clients to manage expectations, communications and resolve delivery escalation.
• Monitor component shortages, manage inventory parameters, and work with procurement on material substitutions or End-of-Life (EOL) plans.
• Lead planning and scheduling activities for multiple projects and operational functions.
• Analyse data, trends, and forecasts to support planning decisions.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with objectives.
• Monitor progress against plans and identify potential risks or delays.
• Prepare reports, dashboards, and presentations for management.
• Mentor junior planners and provide technical guidance.

The Senior Planner role is responsible for providing effective project management resources that employ practical, proven project management methodology, tools & techniques and implement new projects on time and in a successful manner within the Program Management department.

Key responsibilities

About you

• Experience at least 5 to 8 years in Electronic Manufacturing Services (EMS) environment
• Hands-on experience with enterprise software with advanced proficiency in SAP or standard MRP system preferred
• Strong analytical and math skills with advanced knowledge of MS Excel for data tracking & reporting
