Job summary

EPAM Systems is seeking a PHP Developer to support and evolve business-critical platforms across an Australia and New Zealand portfolio for a global data and analytics organization. You will build new features, resolve production issues, and help teams adopt AI-assisted delivery using tools like GitHub Copilot while working in balanced agile teams.

You will maintain and enhance PHP applications, develop APIs, investigate incidents, and collaborate with distributed stakeholders to plan delivery.

Qualifications

• Proficient in PHP with production experience.
• Ability to write, review, and troubleshoot code autonomously.
• Experience navigating legacy codebases and refactoring safely.
• Experience building, integrating and supporting APIs/back-end services.
• Strong problem-solving to diagnose incidents and restore services.
• Experience delivering in Scrum or Kanban environments.
• Clear spoken and written English for distributed collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and enhance PHP applications, including legacy systems.
• Develop back-end components, APIs, and integrations per standards.
• Investigate production issues, perform root-cause analysis, drive incident resolution.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to plan delivery.
• Improve reliability through refactoring, docs, and readiness practices.
• Support modernization initiatives like migrations and platform upgrades.
• Apply AI-assisted engineering tools to speed delivery and quality.
• Participate in on-call coverage as needed.
