Job summary

Monolithic Power Systems, Inc. is seeking a Senior Packaging Development Engineer to design, develop, and scale advanced packages and modules for industrial, automotive and telecom markets.

You will work with cross-functional teams to translate system requirements into robust package definitions that meet electrical, thermal and mechanical specs. The role requires 3+ years in package design, proficiency in AutoCAD/SolidWorks, and strong experience with thermal/electrical/Mechanical FEA/CFD

Qualifications

• BS or MS degree in Mechanical, Materials Science, Electrical Engineering or related engineering field.
• 3+ years of experience in design of packages and modules.
• Proficiency in CAD software: AutoCAD and SolidWorks preferred.
• Deep understanding of packaging technologies, process flow, materials, qualification and manufacturing implementation.
• Knowledge of thermal, electrical and mechanical FEA/CFD methods for semiconductor packaging and board-level applications.
• System-level simulation skills are a plus.
• Excellent communication, writing and presentation skills.
• Strong innovation and problem-solving mindset.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and scale to volume production of new packages and modules for industrial, automotive, renewable and telecom markets.
• Translate system requirements into package/power module definitions meeting electrical, thermal, and mechanical specs.
• Collaborate with internal teams, subcontractors and suppliers to develop packages, assembly processes and technologies.
• Optimize materials and processes to maximize yield and minimize cost.
• Benchmark competitors and develop new methodologies, technology and IP.
• Provide direct support for multiple product lines and customers.
