Job summary

Randstad Malaysia is looking for a Senior Oracle Database Administrator in Kuala Lumpur. This role involves providing operational database support and performing necessary upgrades and security patching for Oracle Server databases.

The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience in Oracle database administration and knowledge in Oracle RAC would be an advantage. The position offers a permanent contract with medical insurance and an attractive performance bonus structure.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of Oracle database administration experience.
• Experience with database patching, backup & recovery, and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge in Oracle RAC is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Provide 2nd level operational database support for Oracle Server databases.
• Perform security patching for the databases, including RAC/Cluster.
• Maintain development, production, and multiple testing environments.
• Perform database upgrades and implement backup recovery procedures.

About the Job

• Provide 2nd level operational database support of Oracle Server databases
• Perform security patching for the DBs including RAC/Cluster databases
• Maintains development, production, and multiple testing environments.
• Performs upgrades of databases, adding new structures or elements.
• Provides use of data access tools and techniques to enable information access by business users.
• Assists in the installation, configuration, and maintaining of the database management systems software.
• Implements database backup and recovery procedures

Skills and Experience Required

• At least 3 years of Oracle database administration experience including performing database patching, backup & recovery as well as troubleshooting
• Knowledge in Oracle RAC would be an advantage
• Preferably having experience in 1 other database technology tool as well such as SQL, MySQL or PostgreSQL
• Knowledge of database management systems
• Good communications skills
