Greatech Integration (M) Sdn Bhd is seeking a New Product Introduction Engineer to lead end-to-end NPI program execution from prototype through mass production readiness in Penang, Malaysia. You will coordinate cross-functional teams, review specifications and BOMs, and drive process development and CAPA activities.

The role requires strong leadership, customer-facing communication, and experience with PFMEA, DFMs, and ECNs/ECOs to ensure manufacturability and timely delivery of new products.

Qualifications

5–8 years experience in NPI, manufacturing engineering or product industrialization within EMS/ODM/JDM
Strong knowledge of BOM structures and PFMEA
Understanding of manufacturing processes including machining, sheet metal fabrication, assembly, PCBA and testing
Strong leadership, communication, and customer-facing skills
Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

Lead end-to-end NPI program execution from prototype to mass production readiness.
Develop and maintain NPI project timelines, deliverables and risk assessments.
Coordinate cross-functional teams to meet customer milestones.
Act as primary technical liaison with customers for NPI builds, engineering queries, design changes and reviews.
Review customer specs, drawings and BOMs for manufacturability and clarity.
Drive process development, validation and documentation for new products.
Develop and review PFMEA, Control Plans, Work Instructions and Process Flow Diagrams.
Identify and implement Design for Manufacturing (DFM) improvements and drive ECN/ECO.
Plan and execute engineering builds with material readiness and build reports.
Analyze build issues, lead root cause investigations and implement CAPA.
Support customer audits, internal audits and new product quality reviews.
Monitor NPI quality metrics and drive improvement actions.
Collaborate with sourcing on part manufacturability, supplier readiness and cost targets.
Review and approve supplier PPAPs or equivalent qualification documentation.
Other duties as required by supervision.

Job description

Develop and maintain NPI project timelines, deliverables, and risk assessments.

Coordinate cross-functional teams (Manufacturing, QA, Sourcing, Planning, Tooling, Testing, etc.) to meet customer milestones.

Act as the primary technical liaison with customers for NPI builds, engineering queries, design changes, and technical reviews.

Review customer specifications, product drawings, and BOMs to ensure manufacturability and clarity.

Drive process development, validation, and documentation for new products.

Develop and review PFMEA, Control Plans, Work Instructions, and Process Flow Diagrams.

Identify and implement Design for Manufacturing (DFM) improvements and drive engineering change management (ECN/ECO).

Plan and execute engineering builds, including coordinating material readiness, build strategies, and build report preparation.

Analyze build issues, lead root cause investigations, and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).

Support customer audits, internal audits, and new product quality reviews.

Monitor NPI quality metrics (e.g., yield, defects, and cycle time) and develop improvement actions as needed.

Collaborate with sourcing teams to review part manufacturability, supplier readiness, and cost targets.

Review and approve supplier PPAPs or equivalent qualification documentation.

Other duties and assignments as instructed by superiors from time to time.

Requirements

Preferably 5 to 8 years experience in NPI, manufacturing engineering, or product industrialization within a contract manufacturing environment (EMS/ODM/JDM preferred).
Strong knowledge of BOM structures and PFMEA.
Sound understanding of manufacturing processes, including machining, sheet metal fabrication, assembly, PCBA, and testing.
Strong leadership, communication, and customer-facing skills.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Strong teamwork and cross-functional collaboration skills.
