Job summary

Axonect in Kuala Lumpur is seeking an experienced Enterprise Network Engineer to design, implement, administer and maintain LAN, WAN, WLAN, SD-WAN, and data center networks across on‑premises and cloud environments.

You will lead routing and switching, firewall and VPN configurations, AWS networking, and ensure security, availability, and performance while mentoring junior engineers and collaborating with cybersecurity and infrastructure teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, telecommunications, network engineering or a related discipline.
• 4+ years of hands-on experience in enterprise network engineering, administration and operational support.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, IPv4/IPv6, routing, switching, VLANs, VRFs, MPLS, SD-WAN, QoS and network security.
• Experience with enterprise networking platforms such as Cisco, Juniper, Aruba, HPE, Huawei or equivalent technologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, administer, and maintain enterprise LAN, WAN, WLAN, SD-WAN, and data center network infrastructure
• Manage routing and switching technologies, including BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, VLANs, VRFs, MPLS, and network segmentation
• Administer firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, security policies, and secure remote connectivity to ensure network security
• Manage internet connectivity, leased lines, MPLS circuits, telecommunications services, and vendor relationships
• Configure and maintain network services, including DNS, DHCP, NTP, and IP Address Management (IPAM)
• Manage wireless infrastructure, load balancing, and application delivery platforms to ensure service availability and performance
• Monitor network health, optimize performance, conduct capacity planning, and troubleshoot complex network incidents
• Perform root cause analysis and support incident, problem, and change management activities
• Support hybrid cloud networking and connectivity between on-premises infrastructure and AWS environments
• Maintain network architecture diagrams, technical documentation, operational procedures, and security standards
• Collaborate with cybersecurity and infrastructure teams on network hardening, vulnerability remediation, audits, and compliance requirements
• Support infrastructure upgrades, migrations, disaster recovery exercises, and business continuity initiatives
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and operations teams

Person Specifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Telecommunications, Network Engineering, or a related discipline
• 4+ years of hands-on experience in enterprise network engineering, administration, and operational support
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, IPv4/IPv6, routing, switching, VLANs, VRFs, MPLS, SD-WAN, QoS, and network security
• Experience with enterprise networking platforms such as Cisco, Juniper, Aruba, HPE, Huawei, or equivalent technologies
• Hands-on experience with firewalls such as Palo Alto, Check Point, Fortinet, or Cisco Firepower
• Knowledge of load balancing platforms such as F5 BIG-IP or Citrix ADC and enterprise wireless technologies
• Familiarity with AWS networking services, including VPC, subnets, routing, security groups, Direct Connect, Transit Gateway, and VPN
• Understanding of Windows Server, Linux, virtualization, and supporting infrastructure technologies
• Experience managing telecommunications circuits, enterprise connectivity, network security, and high-availability environments
• Relevant certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, PCNSE, CCSA/CCSE, Fortinet, AWS Networking, or ITIL are advantageous
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, documentation, communication, and vendor management skills
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and collaborate effectively across technical teams
