Job summary

Lumileds Malaysia Sdn Bhd in Bayan Lepas, Penang seeks a senior MES specialist to lead the Camstar MES application supports and development for global manufacturing.

You will work with shop floor teams to configure MES, analyze requirements, automate data collection, and implement SPC and quality controls, mentoring junior staff.

The role requires 5–7 years in manufacturing MES, strong communication, and programming experience with VB.Net/Excel VBA; BI tools like SAP BO are a plus.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years working experience in the manufacturing environment with MES/Shop floor system.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• 2-3 years programming experience with VB.Net, Excel VBA; other languages are a plus.
• Experience in Relational Database, Programming and Project management.
• Experience in Business Intelligence or Data Warehousing/Mining, like SAP BO.

Responsibilities

• Lead MES support and development team covering Shop Floor Track in/Track out, SPC and WIP Lot hold/release.
• Be part of the Worldwide MES Project team and implement MES functionalities.
• Assist in shop floor/Camstar software requirements analysis and implementation of changes to existing and/or new modules and related 3rd party solutions.
• Modeling and configuring MES system to meet shop floor requirements.
• Develops systems documentation, prepares technical and user documentation and conducts system training.
• Automate data collection for MES system and interface data between MES and equipment.
• Work with Engineers to implement SPC and quality control in MES.
• Develops test strategy and test data to ensure delivery of a robust system.
• Interface with users, consultants and service providers to resolve issues; coordinate with hosting providers.
• Direct and prioritized system development and implementation activities; mentor junior members.

This is a senior level of functional and technical contribution in the MES Department. The person requires a high level of creativity in accomplishing complex assignments independently or as an important technical contributor to a project team.

Position Summary:

Requires a high level of creativity and capable of performing system related function in the following key areas:

• Leading Camstar MES Application Supports and Development Team
• MES Application, DB Troubleshooting, support and management

What You Will Do:

• Leading MES support and development team - covering Shop Floor Track in/Track out activities, SPC and WIP Lot hold/release, Machine and Tester data Interface.
• Be part of the Worldwide MES Project team members and Implementing MES functionalities.
• Assist in shop floor/Camstar software requirements analysis and implementation of changes to existing and/or new modules as well as related 3rd party solutions to support changing business needs.
• Modeling and configuring MES system to meet shop floor requirement.
• Develops systems documentation, prepares technical and user documentation and conducts system training.
• Automate the data collection for MES system. Find best options to interface data between MES system and relevant equipment
• Working with Engineers to implement SPC and implement quality control process in the MES system.
• Develops test strategy and test data to ensure delivery of a good quality and robust system.
• Interface with users, consultants and service providers in resolving application systems related issues. Interface with software application and Hosting provider to resolve technical/system related issues.
• Direct and prioritized system development and implementation activities; sometimes act as a project leader.
• Provide guidance and mentoring the junior members in implementing MES functionality.
• Troubleshoot and resolve system problems relating to shop floor and manufacturing system
• Defining manufacturing process flows and suggestions for performance improvement as related to system capabilities. Help streamline and simplify whenever possible.
• Continuously adapt and evaluate the MES functionality as it relates to manufacturing plans and programs to accommodate and meet the business needs. If those systems cannot meet business needs, evaluation may need to be extended to existing or new third party partners to provide a solution.

What You Will Bring (RequiredQualifications):

• Familiar with manufacturing/shop floor application system functionality and support function, preferable with Camstar MES system
• 5-7 years working experience in the manufacturing environment especially with hands on experience for MES/Shop floor system.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Matured personality with strong communication skills, able to communicate with all levels
• 2-3 years related programming experience preferred. Knowing VB.Net, Excel VBA, Macro and other programming languages is an added advantage
• Experience in Relational Database, Programming and Project management.
• Have working experience in Business Intelligent or Data Warehousing/ Mining Application, like SAP Business Object.

Field of Study

• Computer Science, or related field.
