Job summary

Arup Jururunding Sdn Bhd in Penang is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to deliver mechanical engineering solutions for major infrastructure projects across Malaysia, focusing on airport, rail, and transport developments. You will provide technical leadership, design management, and project delivery while mentoring junior engineers.

You will coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, manage technical deliverables, and support business development across Malaysia and APAC.

Qualifications

• A recognised tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering and membership of a relevant professional institution, or significant progress towards professional accreditation.
• At least 8 years of mechanical design experience within engineering consultancy, including building services and infrastructure projects.
• Strong technical expertise in mechanical building services systems (ACMV, fire protection, plumbing, BMS, LPG, utilities, plant systems) and complex multidisciplinary developments.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage mechanical design packages across all project phases from concept to handover.
• Provide technical review for ACMV, fire protection, plumbing, BMS, LPG, utilities, and mechanical plant systems.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, clients, contractors and stakeholders for successful delivery.
• Manage technical deliverables, design programmes, risks, budgets and quality requirements.
• Mentor and develop junior engineers and support business development across Malaysia and APAC.
