Job summary

Jora Malaysia seeks a technical lead to oversee the full life‑cycle of laboratory instrument development or modification, from analyzing existing systems to concept generation and implementation. Qualifications

• Experience as technical lead for interdisciplinary product development teams.
• Good moderation skills and ability to present technical solutions to an engineering audience.
• Strong understanding of design-to-cost and requirement engineering processes.

Responsibilities

• Compliance and responsible with objectives, deadlines and budgets.
• Mentor and coach other engineers.
• Live and uphold the brand and values.
• Technical analysis of current instruments and systems.
• Development of variants for mechanical and mechatronic modules.
• Evaluation and selection of variants with best fulfilment of requirements including embedding in the overall system.
• Evaluates solutions which achieve given production costs.
• Development of solutions that can be produced, tested safely with no errors, easily replaced in the field.
• Development of solutions that avoid adjustments in development, final test and in-field replacement.
• Creation and execution of complex feasibility studies.
• Supporting engineering testing to demonstrate compliance with requirements, paying special attention to early detection of weak points and design flaws.
• Clarify requests from production, customer support, and product management departments.
• Monitoring the market with respect to relevant technologies and products.
• Excellent knowledge of manufacturing techniques, processes and costs.
• Excellent knowledge of measuring techniques.
• Good knowledge of system design incl. concept, usability, integration, value engineering, design to cost.
• Enhance and simplify the functional digital aspects of products.
• Holistic understanding of the HW architecture with attention to details and interfaces.
• Consistently seeking and learning new technology.
• Ability to run worst-case and statistical tolerance calculations and take measures.
• Good knowledge and ability to run FEM simulations and take measures.
• Excellent understanding of additive manufacturing and their applications.
