Job summary

Evlos is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to lead the design of custom automation and AOI machines, based on-site in Puchong. You will own mechanical concepts, drive CAD workflows in Inventor, and ensure designs meet performance, cost, and manufacturability targets.

Bring 4+ years of automation design experience, strong GD&T knowledge, BOM management capability, and hands-on problem-solving. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of hands-on mechanical design experience in automation or custom equipment.
• Proficient in Autodesk Inventor.
• Strong understanding of actuators, bearings, guides, cylinders, drive systems, and frame structures.
• Familiarity with GD&T, fabrication processes, and engineering tolerances.
• Ability to troubleshoot mechanical design issues independently during assembly or testing.
• Good communication and documentation skills for technical drawings and BOMs.
• Experienced in BOM management and revision control practices.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver mechanical designs for automation projects, including frames, motion systems, safety mechanisms, and fixtures.
• Translate requirements into robust, manufacturable solutions considering performance, reliability and cost.
• Create detailed 3D models, 2D drawings, and BOMs using CAD software (Autodesk Inventor).
• Perform mechanical calculations, tolerance analysis, and design validation.
• Review designs, models, drawings, and BOMs for accuracy and manufacturability.
• Collaborate with Design Lead, Project Engineers, Electrical/Control Engineers, Fabrication, and Production.
• Participate in design reviews and customer meetings to communicate concepts and solutions.
• Apply DFM/DFA principles and internal standards throughout the design process.
• Troubleshoot design issues during fabrication, assembly, testing, and commissioning.
• Provide guidance to junior designers and drafters when required.
