Job summary

Jabil is seeking an experienced Master Planner to manage all planning activities in the assigned workcell, mentor planners and coordinators, and ensure accurate MPS and forecast alignment with customer PO coverage. You will lead BOM creation and routing efforts, optimize capacity use, and drive on-time delivery while maintaining material control and compliance with safety and contract terms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree + 5 years experience, or Masters + 3 years, or PhD without experience.
• Thorough knowledge of MRP, lead times for component types, internal run rates, and sequencing to build a product.
• APICS certification preferred or equivalent.
• Equivalent combination of education, training, or experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage all planning activities for the dedicated workcell and mentor the Production Planners and Document Coordinators in the workcell.
• Maintain efficiency of capacity and customer sizing.
• Maintain accurate revenue forecasting.
• Maintain material control and liability.
• Develop Master Production Schedule (MPS) and load into ERP, including PO coverage.
• Reconcile the MPS to customer PO coverage weekly.
• Ensure MPS is 100% accurate and achievable.
• Achieve and maintain 95% MPS goal.
• Own production planning, BOM and document control with or without additional support.
• Analyze material and capacity requirements and communicate constraints to the workcell and customer.
• Maintain the workcell’s capacity planning model and resolve uneven capacity utilization.
• Meet daily with the workcell to review schedules, adjust run quantities, and minimize changeovers for 100% on-time delivery.
• Maintain customer contract on file and understand liability terms for material planning and scheduling.
• Be the workcell expert on planning activities supporting PO validity, material quantities, BOM, and routing.
• Lead the workcell in creating Bills of Material and routings for accurate WIP tracking and inventory movements.
• EOL management: chair meetings 30 days before last build date and plan for legacy transitions.
• Manage Jabil purge process for internal workcell purges.
• Adhere to safety, health rules, and security policies.
