Confidential | Selangor | Full-time | Reporting to School Leadership
You'll own marketing for a well-established international school — brand, demand generation, digital, and the hunt for new partnerships — with a direct line of sight to enrolment numbers and a seat at the leadership table.
Most "marketing leader" roles at schools are really just campaign execution with a bigger title. This one isn't. You'll have real scope: building the brand story, opening new corporate and expat-relocation channels, and shaping how a well-regarded school shows up in a competitive market — with the mandate and budget to back it up.
If you've been doing solid marketing work somewhere and are ready to stop asking permission to be strategic, this is that next step.
This is one of a small number of schools in Malaysia holding the accreditations that actually matter in this market — the kind international parents specifically check for before shortlisting. The campus itself is a genuine selling point: purpose-built facilities across the arts, sport and academics that most schools in the region simply don't have, set in a community that's genuinely international rather than international in name only.
It's also a school in growth mode, not maintenance mode — which is exactly why this role exists and why it comes with real budget and real backing from leadership. You'd be walking into a brand with substance behind it, tasked with making sure the market actually knows it.
Own the brand and the story. Decide how this school stands out in a crowded Klang Valley market — not just prettier ads, but a sharper answer to "why us" that resonates with the parents who are actually choosing between three or four shortlisted schools.
Turn interest into enrolment. Build the whole journey — first click to first day — and work hand-in-hand with Admissions to make sure good leads don't die in a slow follow-up or a clunky visit experience.
Go find new demand, not just capture it. This is the part most marketing roles skip. You'll build relationships with relocation agencies, corporate HR teams, international companies, and expat community networks — the referral channels that bring in families before they've even Googled "international school Selangor."
Run digital like it's a growth engine, not a checkbox. Website, SEO, paid, social, CRM/email — you set the direction and hold the team to ROI, not vanity metrics.
Build a team people actually want to work for. Lead, coach, and back your marketing and recruitment people. Set the bar, then get out of their way.
Know your numbers cold. Budget, CAC by channel, conversion by funnel stage, competitor moves — you'll be the person in the room with the answer, not the follow-up email.
Enquiry volume and quality both up — not just more leads, better ones
At least one or two new partnership channels live and producing enrolments
A digital presence that finally reflects how good the school actually is
A team that's tighter, sharper, and doesn't need micromanaging
Leadership treating you as the person who understands the market, not just the person who runs campaigns
8+ years in marketing, brand, or student recruitment — with real experience inside a private or international school, or premium education group. This part's non-negotiable; the sales cycle and parent psychology here are genuinely different from consumer marketing.
A track record of campaigns that moved actual enrolment numbers, not just impressions
Comfort owning a budget and defending it with data
The relationship-building instinct to open doors with corporates, relocation firms, and community networks — this is equal parts marketing and business development
The confidence to sit across from a Principal or Board member and hold your ground
Strong instincts across digital, content, and campaign execution — you don't need to do it all yourself, but you need to know good work when you see it
Based in Selangor, on-site (this is a relationship-building role — you'll want to be around)
Leading a combined marketing and admissions team of 10–15, with team leads across both functions reporting into this role
Reporting into the School Leadership Team, with genuine visibility and influence at that level
Salary: Attractive remuneration package, commensurate with experience
