Job summary

Berjaya Sompo Insurance Berhad seeks an experienced Senior Manager Financial Planning & Analysis to lead planning, performance monitoring, and BI functions. The role reports to the CFO and provides insights to support management decisions and strategic objectives.

The candidate will oversee budgeting, financial analysis, KPI dashboards, and reporting, while coaching the BI team and ensuring data accuracy, governance, and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Degree in Finance, Accounting, Actuarial Science, Economics, or related field.
• 10–15 years of experience in general insurance, preferably in financial planning or finance leadership roles.
• Strong financial analysis and business performance management skills.
• Proven experience leading and managing teams and working with stakeholders across departments.
• Good communication and presentation skills, with ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
• Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and strategic thinking skills.
• Proficient in financial reporting, data analysis, and business intelligence tools.
• Well-organized and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including report writing and presentations.
• Familiarity with Anaplan will be advantageous.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Manager Financial Planning & Analysis to lead financial planning, business performance monitoring, financial analysis, and business intelligence functions for Berjaya Sompo Insurance Berhad (BSIB).

This role reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and provides insights and recommendations to support management decision‑making, improve business performance, and achieve BSIB's strategic and financial objectives.

The key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

Lead the business planning and budgeting process, working closely with relevant departments to set business priorities and financial targets.

Analyze financial and business performance data and provide insights to Senior Management and key stakeholders.

Monitor business performance and progress against financial goals and strategic objectives.

Prepare and present management reports, KPI dashboards, and business performance updates.

Ensure financial and performance reports are accurate, consistent, and timely.

Manage the day-to‑day operations of the Business Intelligence team.

Develop and improve processes to monitor business performance and financial results.

Support new reporting requirements to meet regional and Group reporting needs.

Promote data accuracy, data governance, and the effective use of data across the organisation.

Ensure compliance with Company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Lead, coach, and develop team members to support a high‑performing team.

Perform any other duties and responsibilities assigned from time to time.

Job Specification

Degree in Finance, Accounting, Actuarial Science, Economics, or a related field.

Minimum 10 -15 years of experience in the general insurance industry, preferably in financial planning, business performance, or finance leadership roles.

Strong financial analysis and business performance management skills.

Proven experience leading and managing teams and working with stakeholders across different departments.

Good communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
