Job summary

ISM Insurance Services Malaysia Berhad is seeking a Senior/Analyst level Business Intelligence professional to manage MHIT data and other insurance/takaful databases for analysis, reporting and research. You will build statistical models and BI dashboards, work with internal teams and external stakeholders, and drive data quality and automation in a fast-paced environment.

Fresh graduates are welcome for analyst level; experience with SAS, R, Python, SQL or VBA is an advantage.

Qualifications

• Degree in Actuarial Science, Statistics, Data Science, or related quantitative disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain MHIT and other relevant databases for analysis, industry reporting and research.

Job description

The job holder will primarily manage and analyze MHIT data, develop analytical models and business intelligence reports, and work with internal teams and industry stakeholders to deliver reliable insights. The role may also involve other insurance and takaful databases. The level of appointment will depend on experience and capabilities. A Senior Analyst is expected to demonstrate greater independence, ownership and stakeholder coordination.

Key responsibilities

Manage and maintain Medical and Health Insurance / Takaful (MHIT) and other relevant insurance/takaful databases for analysis, industry reporting and research;

Support data processing and validation, investigation of data quality issues and discrepancies;

Analyze medical claims experience, healthcare trends and cost drivers;

Assess data limitations and their implications for analytical findings;

Develop and maintain statistical models, analytical methodologies and tools;

Develop and enhance business intelligence dashboards and reports that translate complex data into clear and useful insights;

Requirements

Degree in Actuarial Science, Statistics, Data Science, or related quantitative disciplines;

Relevant experience in data analytics, with exposure to healthcare, medical insurance/takaful, or a related field. Fresh graduates are also welcome to apply for analyst-level position;

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with interest in data analysis and modelling;

Experience with tools such as SAS, R, Python, SQL, or VBA is an advantage;

Strong attention to data quality and ability to interpret findings appropriately;

Ability to adapt to different data structures and analytical requirements;

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment;

Good stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to translate data into meaningful insights.
