Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking a senior leader to drive corporate communications and reputation management, partnering with Sustainability to align ESG achievements with stakeholder messaging.

You will lead CEO and Executive Leadership communications, oversee media relations, crisis management, and CSR governance, while building narratives and thought leadership across the business.

Qualifications

• 10–15 years of experience in ESG, corporate communications, or related fields with a track record in leading strategic initiatives at scale.
• Experience in CSR, social impact and brand communications is highly advantageous.
• Degree-qualified in Business, Communications, or related discipline; MBA or Master’s is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of ESG frameworks, reporting standards, and regulatory requirements (e.g., GRI, TCFD).
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.
• Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills, with C-suite and board engagement experience.
• Fluent in English and Bahasa Malaysia, with strong storytelling capabilities.

Lead the development and execution of the company's corporate communications and reputation management strategy while serving as the strategic communications partner to Sustainability, ensuring ESG achievements and corporate purpose are effectively communicated to stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Corporate Communications & Reputation (60%)

• Develop and execute corporate communications strategies aligned with business objectives.
• Lead CEO and Executive Leadership communications.
• Manage corporate reputation and stakeholder perception.
• Lead and provide counsel on crisis communications and issues management.
• Oversee media relations and external communications.
• Manage communications agencies and external partners.
• Develop corporate narratives, positioning and thought leadership programmes.
• Advise leadership on communications risks and opportunities.

ESG Communications (20%)

• Develop ESG communications strategy in partnership with Sustainability.
• Translate ESG initiatives and outcomes into compelling stakeholder communications.
• Lead sustainability campaigns and announcements (if applicable)
• Provide communications counsel on ESG-related issues.
• Support sustainability recognition and award submissions.
• Coordinate ESG-related media opportunities.

CSR Governance & Positioning (20%)

• Develop and execute the company's CSR strategy and annual programmes, ensuring alignment with business priorities, sustainability goals and community needs.
• Build and manage partnerships with NGOs, government agencies, community organizations and other stakeholders to maximize the impact and visibility of CSR initiatives.
• Measure, monitor and communicate the outcomes of CSR programmes through internal and external channels, strengthening the company's reputation, employee engagement and ESG commitments.

Leadership Responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop the Corporate Communications team, fostering a high-performance culture, innovation and continuous improvement.
• Partner with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to align communication strategies with business priorities and drive organizational engagement.
• Build trusted relationships with internal and external stakeholders, providing strategic communications counsel while upholding the company's reputation, governance and values.

Requirements

• 10–15 years of experience in ESG, corporate communications, or related fields, with a strong track record in leading strategic initiatives at scale.
• Experience in CSR/social impact and brand communications is highly advantageous
• Degree-qualifie in Business, Communications, or a related discipline; postgraduate qualifications (MBA or Master’s) are a plus.
• Strong knowledge of ESG frameworks, reporting standards, and regulatory requirements (e.g., GRI, TCFD).
• Demonstrated ability to lead, inspire, and develop high-performing teams.
• Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, with experience engaging C-suite, Board members, and external partners.
• Excellent communication and storytelling capabilities, with fluency in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
• Experience in leading and oversee corporate events, ensuring effective planning, execution, stakeholder engagement and alignment with the company’s corporate communication strategy.
• Strong digital and analytical mindset, with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint); experience in data visualization tools is an advantage.
• Experience in retail, FMCG, or large consumer-facing organizations is preferred
