Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking an experienced COBOL Developer to support a core banking payment platform serving 10+ countries across the APAC region. The role involves end-to-end application development from requirements analysis and design through development, testing, implementation and warranty support.

You will work with AS400, DB2 and Aldon within the development environment, participate in SIT/UAT, and collaborate with business users and stakeholders to deliver quality solutions on schedule.

Qualifications

• 6–12 years of COBOL development experience.
• Hands-on experience with AS400 / IBM i, COBOL and DB2.
• Experience with Aldon or similar source/version management tools.
• Experience working across the full SDLC.
• Experience in banking, financial services or payment systems is advantageous.
• IBM Mainframe COBOL experience encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Analyse business and technical requirements and translate them into application solutions.
• End-to-end development activities including design, coding, testing, implementation and warranty support.
• Develop and enhance core banking/payment applications using COBOL.
• Work with AS400, DB2 and Aldon within the development environment.
• Participate in SIT, UAT, production implementation and post-implementation support.
• Troubleshoot application issues and perform root-cause analysis.
• Work closely with business users, technical teams and other project stakeholders across APAC.
• Ensure development deliverables meet project requirements, quality standards and timelines.
• Prepare and maintain relevant technical and project documentation.
