Job summary

PERBENA EMAS SDN BHD, Kuching, Malaysia, seeks a Senior Quantity Surveyor (Mechanical & Electrical) to lead M&E cost control, claims, VO/VOP, and contractual management on major projects. You will coordinate with clients, JKR, consultants, and subcontractors to ensure compliance and value delivery.

Applicants should hold a BSc in QS or related field, with 7+ years of experience in construction M&E/ICT, strong communication, and proficiency in MS Office and QS tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Mechanical or Electrical engineering or related field.
• 7+ years in commercial/contracts management within construction, M&E and ICT.
• Strong knowledge of JKR contract forms and VO/VOP processes.
• Fluent in English and Bahasa Malaysia; good communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation, measurement, valuation and submission of monthly M&E progress claims to JKR, including joint site valuations and subcontractor payment certifications.
• Manage subcontractor commercial and contractual matters, including verification of progress, VO claims and payment recommendations.
• Review M&E material and product submissions to ensure compliance with brands, manufacturers, specifications and Schedule C.
• Identify, prepare and submit M&E VO claims with costs, letters, drawings and JKR submissions.
• Manage VOP claims applying M&E components, recovery factors and cost indices.
• Monitor and control project costs for M&E, ICT, kitchen and medical equipment packages with budgeting and forecasting.
• Coordinate ICT commercial and technical matters with client and ensure compliance with requirements.
• Ensure compliance with contract requirements, BQ, MOE and project specs while liaising with JKR, consultants and subcontractors.
