Job summary

Sunway Construction Sdn Bhd is seeking a senior M&E Design Lead to drive M&E design development for mission-critical data centre projects. You will oversee IFC drawings, technical specs, engineering calculations, and equipment schedules to ensure compliance and practicality for site execution.

This role requires strong BIM coordination, clash-free design, and collaboration with civil, structural, architectural, and ICT teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Electrical Building Services or equivalent.
• Experience leading M&E design development for mission-critical facilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead and review M&E design development, IFC drawings, technical specifications, engineering calculations, and equipment schedules.
• Review electrical systems (MV/LV, UPS, generators, switchgear) and mechanical systems (chillers, CRAH/CRAC, cooling infrastructure).
• Verify system capacity, redundancy, maintainability, and resilience per design criteria.
• Coordinate M&E interfaces with civil, structural, architectural, ICT and specialist systems.
• Lead design coordination using BIM, review clash reports, resolve conflicts before site implementation.
• Identify design gaps and drive value engineering, modularisation and prefabrication opportunities.
• Monitor design deliverables, manage design queries, and ensure consultants meet deadlines.
• Manage RFIs, design revisions and deviations, assess impact on cost, programme, quality, and performance.
• Provide input for equipment selection, long-lead procurement, installation sequencing, testing and commissioning readiness.
