Job summary

NCSI (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced Linux/Unix Engineer (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu) to relocate to Singapore and support our multinational IT infrastructure. The successful candidate will manage, maintain, and secure Linux servers, ensuring high availability and meeting SLAs.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting, system integrations during M&A activity, and implementing automation across Linux platforms, VMware, Oracle, WebLogic, and storage systems.

Qualifications

• 7-10 years of Unix/Linux administration experience.
• Strong knowledge of Linux distributions (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu).
• Hands-on shell scripting (Bash, Korn).
• Experience with backups and DR planning.
• Familiarity with monitoring tools like Nagios or Zabbix.
• Understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, NFS, SSH).
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.

Responsibilities

• Manage Red Hat servers, administer operations, backups, and SLA adherence.
• Ensure high availability of Unix platforms (RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu).
• Troubleshoot and remediate infrastructure issues.
• Assist with system integrations during M&A activity.
• Document design, operation, and troubleshooting procedures.
• Serve as SME on Linux, VMware, Oracle, WebLogic, and storage.
• Plan upgrades, optimize performance, monitor systems, and resolve problems.
• Suggest improvements and drive automation opportunities.
• Provide updates to management on new technologies and opportunities.
• Collaborate with team leads and project management; mentor juniors.
