Job summary

SEPAP SDN BHD is seeking an experienced Senior System Engineer (Linux / Infrastructure) to own Linux servers, websites, backend infrastructure, databases, and online services. The ideal candidate has 4+ years in Linux administration and can independently monitor and optimize production environments.

You will work across frontend, backend, API, database, web server, and network layers to ensure services remain secure, fast, scalable, and highly available.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of relevant working experience in System Engineering, Linux Administration or IT Infrastructure.
• Strong practical experience in Linux server administration.
• Proven experience managing production servers and live online services.
• Good knowledge of Nginx/Apache and web server configuration.
• Strong understanding of HTTP/HTTPS, DNS, TCP/IP, ports and firewalls.
• Experience with server monitoring and performance troubleshooting.
• Ability to work with developers and technical teams.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of Linux production servers and system environments.
• Configure, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot Linux servers and system services.
• Monitor CPU, RAM, disk space, bandwidth, network connections, and server health.
• Manage Linux users, permissions, processes, services, and configurations.
• Perform system updates, patches, maintenance and security hardening.
• Monitor server uptime and proactively identify issues; maintain production environments.
• Configure and manage the website/servers supporting company websites and platforms.
• Investigate downtime, slow response, and server‑related issues; analyze logs for root causes.
• Work with developers to improve stability, performance, and deployment processes.
• Monitor database connectivity, availability, and performance; assist with backend services.
