HCL Technologies Malaysia SDN BHD is seeking an experienced Java Production Support Lead in Kuala Lumpur. This full-time role involves leading production support operations for Java applications, overseeing a team of engineers, and ensuring high availability and performance.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years in Java production support, 2+ years in a lead role, strong knowledge of Tomcat/JBoss/WebSphere, and hands-on experience with monitoring tools and SQL databases.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of hands-on Java production support or similar roles.
• 2+ years in a lead or supervisory capacity managing technical teams.
• Strong expertise in Java development, frameworks and app server technologies (Tomcat, JBoss, WebSphere).
• Proficiency in diagnosing and resolving Java application performance issues, memory leaks and threading problems.
• Experience with production monitoring and alerting tools (New Relic, Dynatrace, Splunk).
• Solid understanding of database technologies, SQL and troubleshooting database-related issues.
• Experience with Linux and Windows server environments.
• Knowledge of incident management and change management processes.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of Java production support engineers, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance management.
• Monitor and maintain production Java applications, ensuring system availability, performance and reliability.
• Respond to and resolve critical production incidents, coordinating with development teams and other departments as needed.
• Perform root cause analysis on production issues and implement preventative measures.
• Manage service level agreements (SLAs) and reporting on key performance metrics.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for production systems, processes and troubleshooting procedures.
• Conduct regular reviews of logs, alerts and system health to identify potential issues before they impact users.
• Collaborate with development, infrastructure and business teams to optimise application performance and stability.
• Provide on-call support and lead incident response activities during critical situations.
• Lead knowledge transfer sessions and training initiatives for the support team.
