Job summary

Techstreet in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia is seeking a skilled Software Engineer to develop and maintain our digital banking core system. You will work with Java, SpringBoot, Kafka, and microservices to deliver scalable, reliable software that powers banking operations.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, implement RESTful services, and ensure security and quality in a fast-paced environment. Prior experience with AWS and cloud platforms is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Proven experience as a software engineer with a focus on Java, SpringBoot, Kafka, microservices, and MySQL.
• Strong understanding of microservices architecture and implementation.
• Experience with RESTful API development and integration.
• Familiarity with version control systems (e.g. Git).
• Knowledge of agile development methodologies.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Understanding of security principles and how they apply to banking systems.
• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g. AWS) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop scalable APIs powering our digital banking platform.
• Integrate with core banking systems and event-driven services.
• Design reliable microservices using Kafka and modern architecture.
• Architect and implement scalable microservices solutions to support the digital banking platform.
• Collaborate with Product, Mobile, QA, and Platform teams to deliver impactful features.
• Identify and correct bottlenecks and fix bugs.
• Help maintain code quality, organization, and automation.
• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
• Write and maintain technical documentation.
• Stay up to date with industry trends and technologies to ensure our systems are current and robust.
