Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade Java applications using Spring Boot.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Java Engineer to join our technology team at a leading international bank. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and delivering high-performance, secure, and scalable enterprise applications that support mission-critical banking platforms. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in Java backend development, microservices architecture, and cloud-native application development within a highly regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade Java applications using Spring Boot.
• Build scalable, resilient, and high-performance microservices following industry best practices.
• Develop RESTful APIs and integrate with internal and external systems.
• Participate in architecture discussions and contribute to technical design decisions.
• Optimize application performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code following coding standards.
• Collaborate with business analysts, solution architects, QA engineers, DevOps, and cross-functional teams throughout the SDLC.
• Troubleshoot production issues and implement sustainable solutions.
• Ensure applications comply with security, compliance, and regulatory standards applicable to the banking industry.
• Participate in code reviews, mentoring junior engineers, and promoting engineering best practices.
• Support CI/CD pipelines and automate deployment processes.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across engineering teams.

Required Skills & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 8 years of hands-on Java development experience.
• Strong expertise in Java 11/17 and object-oriented programming.
• Strong hands-on experience with Spring Boot, Spring Framework, and Spring Security.
• Strong knowledge of RESTful API design and development.
• Experience with JPA/Hibernate and relational databases such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, or SQL Server.
• Experience with messaging technologies such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or JMS.
• Strong understanding of multithreading, concurrency, collections, and JVM performance tuning.
• Experience with containerization technologies including Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform is advantageous.
• Experience using Git, Maven/Gradle, Jenkins, GitLab CI, or other CI/CD tools.
• Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools such as Splunk, ELK, Grafana, or Prometheus.
• Strong understanding of secure coding practices and application security.
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively in global and distributed teams.

Preferred Experience

• Prior experience working in an international bank or financial services organization.
• Experience delivering applications in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Knowledge of event-driven architecture and distributed systems.
• Familiarity with domain-driven design (DDD) and design patterns.
• Experience with OpenShift or Kubernetes-based platforms.
• Understanding of DevSecOps practices.
• Exposure to high-availability, low-latency, and mission-critical systems.
