Job summary

Techstreet Malaysia is seeking a skilled Software Engineer to develop and maintain the digital banking core system. You will work with Java, SpringBoot, Kafka, and MySQL to build scalable microservices and RESTful APIs.

Responsibilities include integrating with core banking systems, designing robust microservices, and collaborating with cross-functional teams while staying current with industry trends and best practices. Local Malaysians only.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Proven experience as a software engineer with a focus on Java, SpringBoot, Kafka, microservices, and MySQL.
• Strong understanding of microservices architecture and implementation.
• Experience with RESTful API development and integration.
• Familiarity with version control systems (e.g. Git).
• Knowledge of agile development methodologies.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to details.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Understanding of security principles and how they apply to banking systems. Experience with Mambu is a plus.
• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g. AWS) is a plus. Bonus: Mambu Splunk Cursor Claude Code

Responsibilities

• Develop scalable APIs powering our digital banking platform.
• Integrate with core banking systems and event-driven services.
• Design reliable microservices using Kafka and modern architecture.
• Architect and implement scalable microservices solutions to support the digital banking platform.
• Collaborate with Product, Mobile, QA, and Platform teams to deliver impactful features.
• Identify and correct bottlenecks and fix bugs.
• Help maintain code quality, organization, and automation.
• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
• Write and maintain technical documentation.
• Stay up to date with industry trends and technologies to ensure our systems are current and robust.
